About Kelsey

Equal parts feisty and charming, award-winning actress Kelsey Hewlett has been performing on stage and screen since she was knee-high to a grasshopper.  The only child of two middle school teachers in rural Oklahoma, Kelsey got her start in local theatre productions (among her favorite roles were Shelby Eatenton in Steel Magnolias  and the Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz) before earning degrees in drama and political science from the University of Oklahoma.

Having learned the art of grandiose storytelling from the Sooner State’s finest thespians and politicians, Kelsey moved to the City of Angels to further her professional acting career.  During her early years in Los Angeles, she studied at the famed Groundlings Studio and performed regularly as part of the sketch comedy troupe Public Access.  She has since been cast in dozens of films and commercials.  She can often be found performing stand-up comedy  in venues throughout the city.

Kelsey currently resides in Hollywood with her cat, Opie.  When she isn’t displaying Southern sass or girl-next-door grace and grit on film, her hobbies include eating chicken nuggets, reciting hardcore and off-the-chain Shakespearean monologues, and deciding which polka dot dress accurately reflects her mood today.  Her heroes are Will Rogers, Walter Cronkite, and Dolly Parton.
